Well, I am (Turbine's) Infinite Crisis regular, and thought should try lotro, but download manager is worst, it really suck when it says launch game and launcher then freezes. I am hoping to get the reply or some tip like I do on IC. Btw, IC is still better game, community and support. I am downloading & ofc playing this game for the first time. And this is first time and fresh download attempt. (Not a repair or reinstall) Its stuck on 'Retrieving content list from Akamai', while Current Progress and Total Progress doesnt increase at all.

I have a feeling that for me at least, Akamai is blocked for some reason. I found this thread hoping to find some method of testing the Akamai connection to see if I could even make a connection to their download servers. (ie url and port) I'm at my local library and they're notorious for stuff like this. (We caught them blocking a number of Google's file serving subdirectories last year. We're still trying to get a response on why the block Wikipedia's article on the color 'Pink'.) I'm currently trying a proxy through one of my servers (I run a webhosting company) but it's actually made it worse for me. Stuck on Initializing Pre-Reqs now. Was previously stuck on downloading client_sound.dat.

Dated 5/22/14 I had a similar issue once when try to update the client. Pc Ace Pro32 Installation Password here. The solution that worked for me was to disable all firewalls while I updated. If that doesn't work, maybe you should try installing the game via Steam?
I don't use Steam, so I have no idea how it works, but it should bypass a few internet issues. Edit: also try opening the launcher by going to Program Files (or Program Files x86 depending on your PC model)->Turbine and finding the file called Turbine Invoker. Right click this and select 'Run as Administrator'. This should make the two options you're missing in the launcher hopefully appear. Thank you for the responses. I forgot to say that previously.
